Boulevard Bistro is one of those places you have high hopes for when you arrive.  The decor is simple and modern, the atmosphere relaxed, and the menu incredible.  It even boasts its own gelato bar!  We were terribly mistaken.

We started off with the French Brie & Honeycomb Melt.  The combination of melted brie with the apples stripes on top of walnut bread was delightful, although I wish there was an easier way to have eaten this.  There was also a hint of honey in the dressing which I loved.

Our appetizer was where the good service and great expectations ended.  The restaurant only had 6-7 parties seated, yet they were turning away customers.  We also waited over 40 minutes before we hailed a waiter to find out if our food was coming out.

Instead of our meals, we were brought some olives.  On a good note, I was eyeing the olives earlier, but had decided on the French Brie & Honeycomb Melt.  On a bad note, it took another 40 minutes before our food arrived.

Mr. Munchimunch ordered the Fish & Chips, beer battered fresh pacific cod, fries, apple-cabbage slaw, caper-dill aioli.  There was only one piece of flavorless fish.  And the fries came out cold.  He definitely wasn't happy about his order.

I ordered the Pan Seared Red Trout, Utah red trout, French green beans, hazelnut-caper brown butter, fingerling potatoes, capier-dill aioli.  That piece of trout could not have been more than 4 ounces.  Not to mention, there were still scales on the skin!  Everything on my plate was bland.

I was eyeing the gelato when we first walked in, but after sitting at the restaurant for over two full hours, we just wanted to leave.  After leaving, we actually had to grab something on the way back home because our meal was not filling.

What a horrible experience!  One we will never experience again as we will not be returning.  On the other hand, I do have a friend that had dinner at Boulevard Bistro two days after we did and their meal was just fine.  I'm not sure what was going on with the restaurant that day, but it completely ruined the night.  If you must, visit at your own risk.
