Since we were in the area, Mr. Munchimunch and I decided to meet up with some friends for dinner. Roosters Brewing was suggested and we happily agreed.
We arrived a few minutes early so I snapped a quick picture of a painted horse near the restaurant. I think my friend said they were for Days of 47. They reminded me of the painted statues in NYC.
I also snapped a quick picture of a piano just sitting out there in the street. It was very out of tune, but it reminded me of the touring pianos.
By this time, our full party arrived so we headed on inside.
House brewed Root Beer. It was so good!
We all split an order of What a Crock, a blend of eight cheeses baked with crab, artichoke hearts, spinach, and roasted garlic served with sliced baguette. This was an amazing combination of flavors and I was upset when this was finished!! I was so tempted to place another order of this.
Sadly, I don't have notes on what type of soup this was. I do remember it being a bit too salty for my tastes though.
Mr. Munchimunch ordered the Black Bean Veggie Burger as soon as he noticed it on the menu. He gladly finished this up with no complaints.
I ordered the Baked Chicken Milano, lightly seasoned tender chicken breast baked with a tangy lemon-caper-shallot butter, served with sauteed asparagus and Beehive Cheddar mashed potatoes. This really hit the spot. Just the right amount of tart with a juicy piece of chicken. The asparagus was a bit lacking, probably because it was out of season, but the Beehive Cheddar mashed potatoes more than made up for it. This was a large portion so I ended up packing half of it home for lunch the next day.
I would willingly make the drive up to Roosters Brewing for a meal, even if only for What a Crock. It was just that good! Our service and meal were also satisfying. If you're in Ogden and looking for a place for lunch or dinner, Roosters Brewing Company and Restaurant is the place!
