Things have been so hectic these days. I feel so neglectful of this little blog and the few (one? or two?) readers I have out there. I'm so sorry!! >_< I do have a few posts I have been trying to put together and hopefully they will be up soon. For now, you'll have to deal with a little bit of inactivity and restaurant reviews... Thank you for visiting!
So a little while back, Mr. Munchimunch and I were up in Layton for some car business. We arrived a bit early so decided to find some brunch. I'm so glad a friend of ours recommended Sill's Cafe!
I started off with a Utah scone doused in some deliciously sweet honey butter and a cup of coffee. I've mentioned before that I was newly introduced to a Utah scone and since then, I've gotten use to a scone vs a (Utah) scone and love a good fluffy Utah scone with honey butter on top. This one was no disappointment. In fact, I felt bad for not wanting to share this with Mr. Munchimunch! (But I did...)
Mr. Munchimunch wanted something a bit more filling so ordered Sill's Steak Sandwich with grilled onions, mushrooms, fries and salad. It was pretty disappointing. There wasn't any flavor and the fries were limp and unsalted.
I ordered Dale's Breakfast, two strips of bacon, one egg (I chose sunny side up), S.O.S. on hash browns and a scone. While Mr. Munchimunch's choice was a disappointment, mine was not! I can honestly say this was the BEST SUNNY SIDE UP I have EVER had outside of making my own!!! The yolk was perfectly runny and there was no leftover uncooked egg white on top of the yolk, which is quite common when ordering these. And the edges were perfectly crispy, but not too fried, leaving enough regular egg white for consumption. Just thinking about to this sunny side up egg makes me so happy!
Even though Mr. Munchimunch wasn't too happy with his meal at Sill's Cafe, I totally was! The wait wasn't long even though we arrived during rush breakfast hours. The service was fantastic even though the place was packed to the brim. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. And did I mention it was the BEST sunny side egg I've ever had outside of making my own?! Mr. Munchimunch even mentioned that I didn't have one complaint about Sill's Cafe. hehe
I guess you'll just have to go to Sill's Cafe and see what the big fuss is for yourself. ^_^
