Not only do Mr. Munchimunch and I enjoy sushi, but we also love a good steak. We've tried several places with our favorite being Madelines Steak & Seafood. However, since Madelines Steak & Seafood changed into Maddy's Sports Grill, the atmosphere hasn't been what it use to be.
Enter Carver's Steak & Seafood. You enter the front doors into a posh lobby and restaurant. Everything is beautifully furnished and the service is impeccable.
We started off with some Sour Dough house bread.
I ordered the Pear and Feta Garden Salad to begin my meal. The sweetness of the pears meshed well with the tangy Feta cheese. A few nuts were scattered about too, which brought a nice crunch to the dish.
Mr. Munchimunch ordered the Clam Chowder. It was disappointing to me as I've had authentic, thick and creamy, clam chowder from New England. This clam chowder was a bit thin and there weren't enough clams.
Mr. Munchimunch continued on to his favorite cut, Prime Rib. He devoured this dish and was completely stuffed. The side of horseradish had a kick to it as well. And how darling do those mash potatoes look?!
I ordered the Tournedos Oscar. It was extremely tender and juicy and perfectly cooked at medium rare. I chose the side of Potatoes au Gratin which I couldn't stop eating. If given the choice, I might have ordered a side of Potatoes au Gratin to go!
Last, but not least, we ordered the Créme Mousse au Chocolate for dessert. Fresh créme Anglaise drizzled over silky rich chocolate mousse. What the menu failed to mention, was all the sweetened condensed milk. I absolutely love sweetened condensed milk and this dessert was heavenly!
We can't wait to return to Carver's. While their menu is a bit on the pricey side, the atmosphere and cuisine more than make up for it. If you're looking for a new steak house to try out, definitely head over to Craver's!
